we all lead
in our own way
Not all of us
need the
well-lit stage
we lead
by offering
a sure hand up
off of the ice
to a friend
we lead by
being patient
with those people
who were our
first teachers
when they begin
to stumble
we lead by
choosing the
best life for
ourselves
even when
no one else
understands
that choice
I am already
quietly leading.
